My wife and I have sailed 3x out of San Juan. The only place we have ever stayed is the El Convento in Old San Juan. The hotel is across the street from the oldest Catholic Church in North America. (If I remember right) You are within walking distance to El Morro and Old San Juan is at your finger tips. You can read the reviews and ratings on Trip Advisor. We love the beach but in San Juan we would stay no other place. Transportation to the cruise terminal is an easy 10 minutes with cabs outside the doors.
