snellom00 Posted February 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2011 I will be cruising out of Baltimore and will be staying overnight. I would like to know If I should book a hotel near the train station or the inner harbor. which would be closer to the port or would it really matter? I am trying to get a hotel with shuttle service close to the port just not sure of the logistics.
madelinerose Posted February 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2011 Hi... Penn Station Baltimore is 2.5 miles north of the Inner Harbor, a straight shot south on St. Paul Street, and 5 miles north of the cruise terminal. The Inner Harbor is closer to the cruise terminal. There are a few (or less) B&B's near Penn Station, none providing a shuttle to the cruise terminal. There are 4 Inner Harbor/Downtown/Fells Point hotels that provide a shuttle to the cruise port...Holiday Inn Express at the Stadiums, Brookshire Suites, The Admiral Fell Inn and Sleep Inn and Suites Downtown Inner Harbor. All of the Inner Harbor/Downtown/Fells Point hotels are a short taxi ride to your ship if no shuttle at your hotel choice is available. Here's an interactive map that may help. FYI and not exact - at the bottom of the map is Winans Cove...that's the approximate location of the cruise terminal. ;) http://baltimore.org/maps/ Just adding that if you're using Amtrak going north, there's also a station at BWI which you will reach before Baltimore. There are several hotels that provide shuttle service to the port. They can usually be found at stay123 or Trinity Reservations. There are many posts here about the BWI hotels that you will find by doing a search.
