Any ideas for which of these have great beaches nearby? :) All ideas and information welcomed as this is our first Caribbean trip with SS... Host Caroline Posted February 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2011 St Maarten right along waterfront in Philipsburg a short distance from the pier.. We usually take water taxi but you could walk it. Nice view, clean In Grand Turk a great pretty much deserted beach to right of shopping area at the pier and a more crowded one in front of Margaritaville altho most of the time that beach has some chairs etc. by midafternoon. If you are one of first ships in you can get great chair under a tree with bar service and enjoy the day... beach to right is lovely, unspoiled but no "facilities"

St. Barts - you can walk through town (Gustavia) to Shell Beach: map of Gustavia here: http://www.sbhonline.com/St-Barts-bb/showtopic.php?tid/19960/
youbid Posted February 28, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2011 When in St. Barts we always go to St.Jean Beach, can you walk? If would take you about 15+ minutes or try this....Just ask anyone driving a car to drop you off as the main road goes past the airport and St.Jean Beach...We have been able to get a ride many times and you will find several places to eat or shop, about a 5 minute drive from the docks. The beach is white sand and warm water... Do a google search for photos...Have fun we do...Mostly locals, shell beach is mostly tourist...
