patterson3 Posted February 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2011 I was interested in hearing from people who have stayed in either (or both) of the cabins right on the end of the hump on any of the Solstice class ships. It appears that the cabins that are the last on the hump (ala 8257) have a much bigger balcony but your view to the waterline is obstructed by lifeboats below, whereas the first cabin on the hump (and all cabins on the hump) have an unobstructed view to the waterline but have an average size balcony? Am I correct in that analysis? If so, I guess it's just a matter of decided which is more important to me when choosing a stateroom....
chief joe Posted February 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2011 You are correct and also from the rear cabins you cannot see forward or the opposite from the front hump cabins. Have been on two S class and my preference is on the hump smaller balcony but better view.
Maggie00 Posted March 3, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 3, 2011 We have 8257 on a trip in spring. I've read somewhere on this forum that the view is fine - balcony is larger. It is one of the outboard most cabins on the angle so should be out far enough to avoid life boats. Besides, why would you want to look straight down any way?
