jeanad Posted March 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2011 So our cruise aboard the Diamond Princess southbound ends in Vancouver, BC where I think I understand we will clear customs and immigration. Is this US Customs & Immigration and if so, when we fly home will we have to clear again at the first US airport we reach? Thank you, Jeana
cruiseryyc Posted March 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2011 You will clear Canadian Customs & Immigration when the ship docks; once you have checked in at the airport, you clear US Customs & Immigration. Then you won't have to do that again when you land at your home airport.
Putterdude Posted March 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2011 You do have an alternative to the above and that is the US Direct Program which will require you to purchase Princess transfers but essentially you are taken from the ship, with your luggage and taken directly to YVR in an "in bond" type situation. Here is a link to the program. link

Here is a link to the program. link We are doing this, only directly to the Seattle airport. Our cruise on the Diamond in July ends in Vancouver as well, and we booked transfers through Princess to SeaTac expediting the border crossing.
