Legend Entertainment Cutbacks?

We are just back from our Legend cruise (2/20 -2/27) and wanted to pass along some information and also ask a related question. This cruise had the least entertainment we have experienced in our 14 Carnival cruises in four years. The biggest disappoinment was no live pop band. There were three nights of about one hour of live band Karaoke called "Superstars" that was not a good substitute. Having the guests perform as primary entertainers is not the way to go. The hairy chest contest, mixologists, etc. already make the guest entertainers.

Also, the deck party entertainment was conducted by the disco DJ, which turned into a childrens party, and left the disco closed that night. There were three other solo entertainers at rotating venues that were poor to mediocre at best.

This was a especially disappointing as our December 2010 Miracle cruise had amazing entertainment. Several cruise staff told us this lack of musical entertainment is the result of recent cutbacks. Can anyone tell me if is this how all current and future cruises are being staffed for entertainment? :(
