Things to do on your own in San Fransisco?

I checked on the Mr Toad's tours and bookmarked it. Has anyone gone on his tours?

Haven't gone on one of these tours, but in researching tours for SF for our upcoming cruise, I see Trip Advisor rates his tours very highly. I'll be looking into these tours, for sure.

it is a little village across the golden gate on the waterfront...lots of art galleries and tourist high end shops...marina, and a great model of the entire bay owned by the army corp of engineers..

there are some interesting history of the village--the summer "arks", the building of the liberty ships, etc, but as a tourist visit if you have limited time?? forget it.

I will be cruising from SF May 14 on the Island Princess. Will arrive in Sf the day before we sail. I found a real fun sounding food tour that goes to Chinatown and North Beach.

As I have been to Sf a few times before this sounds great.

The morning we sail I plan to drop the luggage at the pier and walk to to the Ferry Bldg. My favorite place on a sat morning in SF.

My hubby and I did the reverse postcruise. We got to the airport and dropped our luggage and took the BART back to the Embarcadero stop and spent a couple of hours at the Ferry Building enjoying the outdoor market, which was great fun.
