justloud Posted March 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2011 We are cruising on 3/21 and are lading at 9am. Can we go to the port and leave our big bags then tour around Miami?

patseacruiser Posted March 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2011 By the time you land, get your baggage, get transportation to POM they will be taking your bags. I don't know how you plan to tour Miami but the Port is not really walkable to from the outside of the Port.
xplor97 Posted March 4, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2011 Southbeach really isn't that far away. If you have a rental car. I would say you could be there in 15-20 minutes.

If you had a car, you wouldn't need to drop your bags????? One might be able to catch a cab that early but it's about a $25 tab to SoBe and would be guessing site seeing would become a costly adventure for what little time you would have. I really enjoy SoBe but a few hours wouldn't be worth it - that's why I always stay there pre-cruise.
buckeye82 Posted March 4, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 4, 2011 Why don't you just go to Bayside Market at the entrance to the port? It has shopping and you could grab some lunch. You would be on the waterfront and close to your ship. Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

And if you're lucky, there may be some type of festival or event happening during your visit.

SugarStar00 Posted March 5, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 5, 2011 I wouldn't waste the money, if I were you I'd try to get on the ship asap and have free lunch and explore! I've never been to port of miami but on my cruise last year they let us board early, we were on by noon I believe. :D
