Carnival Legend-Premium Balcony vs. Ocean Suite

My family is interested in traveling on the Legend in January 2012. We are debating between the oceanview suite (OS) and the premium balcony (9B). We are wondering if the ocean suite is worth the extra money. We have cruised multiple times but never with children. At the time of the sailing, we will be traveling with our 3 1/2 year old and 22 month old. We will need a crib in the room for the 22 month old and are wondering if anyone has any feedback on the ability to maneuver in each room with a crib and a 2nd child. Could we fit the crib in the dressing area in the ocean suite? If so, could we still get to the bathroom? If we went with the premium balcony, where would the crib fit?

Any opinions/thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

You can't put the crib in the Ocean Suite dressing room. It is only big enough for one person to pass through, and I don't believe the sliding door to the dressing area is wide enough. Also, the bathroom door opens out, so having a crib in the dressing area will block the door from opening. The only place you can put a crib is between the foot of the bed and the sofa (after you move the table out of the way). With the crib in place, you will have to crawl over the bed to get to the balcony.

With Premium Balcony, you put the crib between the bed and the sofa or dresser depending on your room configuration. Some Cat 9B is the same width as an Cat 11, but with a smaller bathroom and no deperate dressing area.

Could the crib fit next to the bed in either the oceanview suite or the premium balcony? Or can it ONLY fit at the foot of the bed in both rooms?

Is your crib a Pack & Play type? If so, I think it would fit between the two beds if you had them separated. The bedframes are not bolted down so that they can be done in 2 twins or a queen configuration.

We had 2 of the premium extended balconies on the Legend April 2010 and loved them! The extended length makes a world of difference.

Happy sailing!
