Carnival Dream -Advice required re booking which cabin?

We have just booked our first ever cruise on Carnival Dream. Not knowing anything about decks/cabins etc we just accepted what was given. Once confirmation came we were given Deck 1 which we have rang to say we wish to upgrade. Company got back with prices so we are going to go for a balcony cabin - category 8c. Anyone out there who can help us before we ring back to confirm. We realise this category can be on different decks - any advice would be welcome, is one deck better than the other etc etc. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help us decide. :)

It's always a good idea to check what is above and below any cabin you decide to book. For example a cabin under the gym can make for some early morning wake-ups! Being sandwiched between two decks of cabins is usually a good idea. We had 9291 and 9293 and it was fine.
