CPAP Machine & Distilled Water

My husband has had a CPAP machine for many years. I have previously contacted airlines about using it on-board and the answer is no. You must have a lot of medical documentation for it and it would be quite a process to go through.. and you would have to do it with every airline you are flying separately. We contacted the doctor/nurses re: CPAP and whether he would have any difficulties sleeping. They all said there would not be a problem as long as he was slightly elevated and not lying completely flat. We have been to NZ, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand ..all on different trips/flights from Toronto and he has never had a problem. You cannot just use "a medical device" on board a plane without previous clearance.

We used to order the distilled water but just use the ship water now and have never seen any sediment in the tank.

think we just called HAL and asked for ship services and ordered through them - it is amazing that it is still $4 as that is what we paid 10 years ago.

We also take our own extension cord as we have heard of them running out too.

Yes, HAL charged us up front too - the bill came in before we left.
