BM64 Posted March 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2011 Thinking of staying here one night post cruise using starwood points. Don't see it talked about a lot on the boards. Is it clean/comfortableand near any restaurants or shopping. I think we will be done with going to the beach by then. Thanks for your help. oncruisecontrol Posted March 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2011 This hotel is about to 2 miles from a big shopping plaza called Oakwood Plaza. Oakwood is a short, easy cab ride away. Some of the stores include: Barnes and Noble, BJ's Wholesale Club, BJ's Liquors, Kmart, Ross Dress for Less, Old Navy, BigLots, Marshall's, McDonald's, TGI Friday's, Dave and Buster's, The Ale House, Sweet Tomatoes, Sal's Italian, and a movie theater. There are some other stores, but I can't think of them all. Also, within walking distance of this hotel is Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and their restaurant Islamorada Fish Company. loudbmw Posted March 16, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2011 I have stayed there three times pre-cruise on Starwood points. Pro's Nice, clean cruise friendly hotel. Free Airport shuttle, shuttle to pier is available for around $8 per person. E-mail them and request an upgrade to club level - it was only $20 extra per room and since the club lounge is closed weekends, we received coupons that included an appetizer at the bar and breakfast the next morning. Sometimes can be gotten on priceline at a very reasonable rate. Con's Not close to anything except the airport. They charge for parking. Pool is nothing to get excited about. BM64 Posted March 16, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted March 16, 2011 Thank you so much for the replies. We have a really early flight the next morning so not sure it would pay to upgrade to club floor because don't think the restaurant would even be open yet.
