wdwmmdd Posted March 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2005 If I buy a snorkel and mask on my own, can I rent fins where I go for my excursion? I’m just thinking with 5 people trying to cut back for all the things I have to carry. Thanks for the help. Scott ºoº
bluehorizonlover123 Posted March 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2005 We have five and what I do is put all the snorkel stuff in a rolling duffel. I also put all the dress shoes in there and books to read and umbrellas and suntan lotion. Heavy stuff. Because the duffel will never get to 50 lbs as easily as a suitcase will. Make sure you rinse your stuff real good in the shower before you pack it to bring it home. The salt will wear away at the rubber on the fins and masks. If you chose not to bring your own often times the stuff is available for free on snorkeling excursions, you don't have to rent it. It is also available to rent for the week on the ships if you want to do it that way.
cali-croozer Posted March 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2005 We rent to cut down on the things we have to pack and carry. As stated above, if you are on an excursion that provides equipment you can just use their fins; if not, dive shops at the ports will rent fins only; usually for $3-$5. joediver Posted March 15, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 15, 2005 If you plan on using them every day and your family is more comfortable with them, I'd go with the duffel bag. We stuff all kinds of water toys, surf shoes and my dive gear in there. Otherwise for just a few times go with the rentals.
