XCaret-Was it cancelled for you & why?

Just back from Carnival Legend 3-20-11. We had XCaret booked, but it was cancelled due to "not enough people on the tour". Does any one know if this is the real reason why it was cancelled? I just don't want to book it through the ship in the future if this crap happens.

I have gone twice and never had it canceled though the second time it started 2 hours late because the tour guide forgot to put the whole group on the ferry. Unfortunately I think this is one of the tours you almost have to book through the ship since you have to take a ferry and then take a bus or taxi to the park. I wold be to nervous about missing the ship to do this one on my own.

Yes, many times cruiselines will cancel a tour if there is not enough interest.

and I also agree with the above poster-- its an all day thing and youhave to rely on ferries to make the ship- if you are on a cruiselines excursion and you miss that ferry-- the ship will wait for you.

Its just too far for an independant excursion
