dkoitz Posted March 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2011 Just back from Carnival Legend 3-20-11. We had XCaret booked, but it was cancelled due to "not enough people on the tour". Does any one know if this is the real reason why it was cancelled? I just don't want to book it through the ship in the future if this crap happens. cruisy-suzy Posted May 7, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2011 I am curious about this too. Xcaret was not an option for our June 19 Legend sailing until just recently. I am not sure when they added it to the excursion list...
steeners81 Posted May 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2011 I have gone twice and never had it canceled though the second time it started 2 hours late because the tour guide forgot to put the whole group on the ferry. Unfortunately I think this is one of the tours you almost have to book through the ship since you have to take a ferry and then take a bus or taxi to the park. I wold be to nervous about missing the ship to do this one on my own.
serene56 Posted May 10, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2011 Yes, many times cruiselines will cancel a tour if there is not enough interest. and I also agree with the above poster-- its an all day thing and youhave to rely on ferries to make the ship- if you are on a cruiselines excursion and you miss that ferry-- the ship will wait for you. Its just too far for an independant excursion
fewer111 Posted May 12, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2011 They normally put all the mainland tours on the same ferry, Xcaret, Tulum, Coba, etc...so I am not sure why the interest wasn't covered? Was the ocean too rough?
