L.W. Posted June 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2004 Hi....looking to find a reasonably priced hotel in Miami (in a safe area)that offers shuttle from the airport and to the port area (or else one that has a reasonable charge for shuttle)...I booked the DAYS INN MIAMI AIRPORT but do not know if it is in a good area,or is a good hotel. Any other suggestions?...looking to spend aprox. $75 USD, transfers included...Thanks EOS 1999 / Maasdam 2003 / Voyager of the Seas 2004
lmmn Posted June 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2004 I would recommend using Priceline. You can get a very nice hotel for $35-45 USD. No shuttle, but taxi from airport would be about $20, hotel to ship would be less than $10. Taxis are much more convenient than transfers. If you go to Priceline, bid downtown area only on 3* hotel. You would likely get Marriott, Sheraton or Hyatt Regency. Kimarie Posted June 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2004 I would bid now. We got the Doubletree Downtown Miami for $45.00 for October and I bid in April. The hotel now shows no availability for the dates I have. Kim
lmmn Posted June 16, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 16, 2004 I would go ahead and try now, but don't get discouraged at this point if it's not accepted. My experience has been the lowest bids are accepted three months or closer to date of stay. thereuare Posted June 16, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2004 Agree with Priceline. Learn how to use re-bids and don't bid too much at this early stage of the game. As lmmn suggests, don't bid too often now, maybe once every 3 weeks or so... otherwise you will get discouraged and frustrated. Be discipline with your re-bid zones and bid amounts... you'll do just fine as all the 3* hotels in the area get very good reviews (and MUCH better than the Days Inn) -thereuare BetterBidding and PortSchedules
