Help needed on KW's two days trip

We are driving to KW from Ft Lauderdale after our 7 nights west cruise, and plan to stay one night there. Can anyone recommend where to stay, what to do there? We don't think we need beach hours any more after the cruise, but we want to do some water sports and city tour as well. Any particular ones recommended will be appreciated.

I would stay in a B&B to really get that Key West experience. Look at Cypress House, Key West Harbor Inn or Tropical Inn to get started. More upscale is The Gardens or The Marquesa. A good over view of Old Town is provided by City View Trolleys. They are $10 less then Old Town Trolley and cover all of Old Town. Water Sports, check out Danger Charters for a nice day trip with few passengers then the big boats like Fury or Sebago. Kayaking is fun with Lazy Dog Kayaks, or try Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) from SUP Key West.

Agree with the B&B recommendation. We've tried several, and lately we've enjoyed the Coco Plum Inn. We usually stay in Key West 1 or 2 times each year.

When I used to vacation here, we stayed at the Knowles House on Eaton Street a bunch of times... Fabulous! The owners are wonderful!
