sigafoos Posted June 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2004 What is a good hotel in Miami for 1 night before our cruise? Iam not at all familiar with Miami, a hoel with a shuttle from the airport and/or one to the port would be great.
sqmajesty Posted June 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2004 Try using Priceline.com. We were able to get in the Hyatt Regency downtown (very close to the pier) for $38.00/night!
suekay Posted June 26, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2004 And we got the Radisson Downtown for $35 (also near the pier). We saved so much using Priceline that it's worth paying $25 for a taxi from the airport and $7 to the pier
thereuare Posted June 26, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2004 There a only a few hotels in the area that offer both shuttle from the airport and to the pier and tehy typically get horrible reviews... even from those that have said "it's just one nite and we arrive late." Most of the airport area hotels offer shuttles to their properties, but you'll still need to get to the pier on your own the following day. Cab will cost about $25-$30 from your hotel to the pier. The downtown area is closest to the pier and a cab will cost about $25-$30 from airport to hotel and then less then $10 the next day to get from hotel to the pier. As the above posters mentioned, Priceline is great in the downtown Miami area with hotels typically going for well less than half of conventional rates. As well, all the 3* hotels in the area generally receive great reviews so it's a fairly 'safe' area to buy an opaque hotel.
