Tahitian Princess Questions Please

We like some information regarding this ship: The aft stern cabins I believe the BB cat? (the size and balcony) Did you enjoy the ship as much as the larger ones? any information regarding this ship and the South Pacific

The Tahitian Princess is a lovely ship and unlike any other (except it's sister) in the Princess Fleet. Since it is so much smaller, it does not offer anywhere close to the same things offered on the larger Princess ships.

 

There is not 'anytime dining' and there is only assigned seating at dinner, early and late. The buffet is not open in the evening except the first and last night when passengers are coming and going. Other nites you have a choice of the dining room, either the Steakhouse or Sabatinis (which are never open on the same nights but alternate) or pizza at the buffet area which is table service only.

 

The ship is very small when compared to the other ships in the fleet, even comparing it to the Sun Class. But it is very elegant and we loved it.

 

One thing to keep in mind also that since it is a smaller ship, it does ride a lot rougher on the seas then the larger ones do.

 

We enjoyed the mini suite we had as the layout was fantastic.

 

But as far as the ship offering anywhere near what the larger ships do? No, it does not. Thankfully the itinerarys are quite port intensive and most people do not stay up to terrible late.

 

Oh, I almost forgot. The casino on this ship is microscopic compared to the other ships. Almost like a small room full of slot machines and tables. Not much of a choice in slots either, if that interests you at all.

Toto2Kansas described the ship perfectly, although I did not notice much difference in the ride. But perhaps I'm not as sensitive to the motion as others.

 

Everything is simply on a smaller scale; one restaurant (not including alternative dining), no 24 hour buffet (it's used by alternative dining in the evening), two shops, smaller buffet, smaller pool, smaller atrium, etc. You get anywhere on the ship with a 5 minute walk, if that. However, being smaller, you almost never find a line anywhere, except at the occasional elevator during busy times.

 

We stayed in cabin BB7062, which is actually a mid-ship balcony cabin. I believe balcony cabins that go fore and aft from there are BC category, not including the mini-suites.

 

I found our BB cabin to be satisfactory, except we missed having a refrigerator like on the bigger Princess ships.
