Volcano Tours on Celebrity Panama Canal Cruise

Tried posting this on the Celebrity forum given that it is specific to the tours Celebirty are offering but didn't get much feedback. Am hoping someone here might be able to help out.

 

We are going on the Celebrity Panama Canal cruise in April and were wondering if anyone can provide some info about the differences between the Poas Volcano and Arenal Volcano excersions offered on the Puntarenas, Costa Rica port stop? We are wanting to do one of these and obviously can't do both so we were hoping for some info from people who have done either of these tours about how close you get, any visibility problems (fog, mist etc), what you are actually likely to see once you get up there etc.

 

Also, is there any reason why Celebrity don't seem to do a tour to the Pacaya Volcano in Guatemala (or at least it doesn't appear in the brochure I downloaded from Celebrity)? We are stopping at Puerto Quetzal on our cruise and would also love to visit this volcano but would prefer to take a ship tour given the travel distance from the port.

 

I have done a search and can't seem to find anything recent about the volcano tours.

Hi Jork, you might have better luck posting on the Costa Rica board. I did a search and some people have visited both these volcanoes and commented on them but I didn't see anything specific to the Celebrity tour.
