Anyone back recently from Galvston VOS??

I was just wondering if they have eased up on bringing water/soda... I know I've seen lately that they were getting really strict. We are embarking on the 24th and was wanting to try to bring some drinks on ;)

Just off the March 6 sailing. I had 3 cans of root beer in my carry on recycle bag as a test and sure enough they took them away from me in the boarding area after I went through the metal dector. I also had 4 botttles of vitamin water in my roller bag, also a carry on and they did not say a thing about it when it went through the detector right after the shoulder bag. When I went over the table where I had to give up my root beer, it was filled with cans of coke.

They took our juice and water that was in a rolling cooler. But our 12 pk diet coke made it on in the carryon. Go figure...there is NO rhyme or reason what gets through and what doesnt
