Cornishpastyman1 Posted April 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2011 If you're cruising the British Isles and dock at Falmouth here are some ideas for excursions : St Ives http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qIkJBTrJ_M is my home town so I could be biased but it is regularly voted Britain's best seaside resort. Some other (much shorter) views of areas of far South-West England : On The Lizard Peninsula - Cape Cornwall, Cadgwith and Restronguet Creek The first part of this shows Land's End If Land's End is a part of a tour then go and see it, but do not make any special effort or go out of your way to go there. It has become a small theme park. Other than the geographical accident of this piece of coast being the UK's most westerly point it's unremarkable. There are much prettier and more interesting places to see. St Michael's Mount near Penzance This shows how easy it is to walk to the Mount if the tide's out. I hope you enjoy your brief glimpse of Cornwall, Tony ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most recent cruises : Baltics (Copenhagen, Tallinn, St P, Berlin, Helsinki and Stockholm) http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1277047 Eastern Mediterranean (Dubrovnik, Corfu,Olympia, Santorini,Athens, Ephesus, Messina) http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1191713
