tripgrl Posted April 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2011 We are booked on the Spirit for March 2012 but are starting to consider our excursions in each of our ports. In Belize we are considering a tour of the Lamanai ruins and would like to compare the private tours to the NCL tour. However, NCL does not have any excursions listed yet for Belize. Does anyone know when I might expect to see them listed of what the details are of the NCL tour of Lamanai. Thanks!
Toyz711 Posted April 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2011 i recommend doing the NCl tour. we did. met in the theater, waited until they called our tour...went down to the gangway. NCL tours/VIPs/suite passengers get 1st tender. tour guides were waiting, directed us to the bus. 10 mins after getting off the tender we were driving through the city. our tour was great, our tour guide was outstanding. our bus driver had to rush to get us back right as they were loading the last tender. tripgrl Posted April 4, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted April 4, 2011 Just wondering approximately how many people went on the tour?
Toyz711 Posted April 4, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2011 we had 30, along the walk they would spread out. there was a young man, a back up to the tour guide, that stayed with anyone in the rear. nice kid, he ran up the one site, the one you can climb, to help an older man who had knee replacements. it was the man's dream to climb this site and he did it with help. there was one other cruise ship tour, they ate their lunch as we started our tour...never saw them around the site. only time we saw them was the river tour. their boat was in front of us. our bus wasn't the best, it ran great, but the interior was a little shabby. the boat tour was wonderful, the river was high to we didn't see as many crocs and such...but did see some unusual critters. lamanai is amazing
tripgrl Posted April 5, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted April 5, 2011 Your pictures look amazing, thanks for posting them! How was the lunch that was provided?
Toyz711 Posted April 5, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2011 it's served in this thatched roof area. some local women serve it. bottled (local) sodas/water/juices. a local chicken dish (very good, not spicey) cole slaw, etc. didn't hear anyone complain, we liked it. the coconut dessert was popular.
