coral princess Inn

Those are actually the two hotels we were choosing between also. We originally had the Holiday Inn Express booked, mostly b/c it was cheap and had decent reviews. We then read some reviews here and an trip advisor for the Coral Princess and ended up booking that instead. Just sounded a bit nicer and more distinct for the same money. Haven't seen either yet so I can't tell you if we made the right choice.

I'm pretty much like the poster above...we actually had a room booked at the Comfort Inn San Juan for about $110/nt then I found the Coral Princess Inn info on Tripadvisor and I felt it was a much better deal, seems very ecclectic, not the run of the mill Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn you know...so we booked Coral Princess. We go mid-April so if you are going afterwards watch this board as I will post my review when I return.

The Coral Princess is wonderful! It is not a B&B but rather a "boutique" hotel. Very small, very pretty. The bed was great [not your typical hotel box-spring model but a "tempurpedic" type one], the bath had a "jacuzzi" tub. Small but adequate room, tiny pool, very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast [the "croissants" were great], very romantic. It's in a very busy area with many restaurants nearby and the beach [it isn't great] is two blocks away.

Ok made it back and now the vacation is over and back to reality! Loved this place! Very clean, wonderful managment and service all around, very convenient location to both the cruiseship pier and the airport. Will definitely stay here again if our travels bring us to San Juan.

Perki: Glad to hear that you enjoyed the Coral Princess. We just loved it! I'm also glad to hear that it's easy to get to the port from there, as if we ever take a cruise from SJ, I'd love to stay here again. Did you take a cab? How long/how much?

Has anyone ever stayed at this b and b? also has anone stayed at the holiday inn express? price is about $100 for either. thanks

We stayed at the HI Express in March 05. The hotel was very clean. It is perfect for 1 or 2 nights pre or post cruise.

Coral Princess and HI Express are both about a 5 minute walk to the Marriot

I stayed at the Coral Princess in last week, prior to my May 1 cruise on Royal Caribbean. I thought it was great! The front desk connected us with a great rental car (see my other post in this area). It was clean, safe, walking distance to shops, Walgreens, casinos. The continental breakfast was nice - fruit, yogurt, pastry, tea, coffee....

We too stayed in the Coral princess Inn, one night precruise on April 23th.

Just as the other posters we loved it for about the same reasons as they mentioned. Will definitely stay there again when we take another cruise from SJ !:)

Did you book your hotel thru thier website, travel agent, or thru online travel agent? I am now looking at the Coral Princess - are booked at the Marriott Courtyard but it is double+ the price so thinking of switching. We can stay an extra night at the CP rate.

love2vacation: We made our reservation on their website. I don't think you could go wrong booking the CP rather than Marriott, unless you need to be in a larger hotel. It is an utterly charming small hotel. It's very near the Marriott, BTW; we walked over to the beach at the Marriott the morning we left.
