Carnival Dream internet connection

Hi all!

 

Looking to book the Carnival Dream for the New Years Eve Dec 31st 2011 sailing and would like to know how her internet connection onboard is, slow or fast and is it wifi in the cabins. My husband needs to stay in touch with his employers while onboard and he had no problems when we sailed on the Oasis last year. All replies will be appreciated. Thanks.

Slow, and at times even slower. 'Staying in touch' with employers shouldn't be an issue, but uploading or downloading medium or large files is painful.

Dream is probably twice as fast as other Carnival ships and I uploaded thousands of pictures, albeit seriously downsized. I plan on doing the same on Carnival Magic in a few weeks.

 

 

When I ran a speed test from my cabin, I got about 0.76 MB/s download and 0.43 MB/s upload. Ping was abysmmal at 637 ms, but that's what a satellite connection will do to you.
