Carnival Liberty Cruisers - Any ideas or suggestions for Civitavecchia

We're taking three days pre-cruise in Rome and, I know we're going to be at the ship early when we go to Civitavecchia. I've never been there - is there anything to see or do in this port town prior to depature?

When we were there, we had a guide from Civit. to take us to Rome, and even HE said there was nothing to do there. Civit. is a Port entry, we've been there, there ISN'T anything to do. Go explore the ship.

That's a god idea to go in 3 days ahead of time. This way you won't be affected by jetlag on your cruise. When we go to Italy it takes me 2 days to get over jetlag. It's different on everybody but 3 days is good.
