Question about obtaining turkish visa in port

After researching many websites I am still confused about this:

We are taking the Marina cruise from Barcelona to Istanbul in 2012. Will we be allowed to board Marina in Barcelona if we do not have a Turkish visa in our passports? We will be staying on for a week in Istanbul after disembarkation and planned to get the visa in the port after leaving the ship. The Oceania charge for getting visas is $98 for two people. We have flown into Istanbul a few years ago and obtained a visa at the airport for only $20pp. Will we be denied boarding in Barcelona if we don't have the Turkish visas? We appreciate any information or comments.

You won't be denied boarding.

When disembarking in Istanbul, you'll just need to locate the (ever changing) Visa booth before leaving the terminal. One thing that is constant in Turkey is that everything is always in a state of flux.

Don't forget that you may only use AMERICAN DOLLARS to purchase those Visas; no charge cards, no Euros, no Turkish Lira.
