Different snorkel design - Kapitol Reef

I stumbled on a different snorkel design and thought I would post it here so cruisers considering purchasing their own could have another option. It seems pretty cool in the video, maybe someone who knows about snorkels can chime in and give some input.

Keep in mind, the video was made by the company selling the snorkel, so it is somewhat self serving, and distorts/over dramatizes the truths. I will admit that it is an innovative design, however any decent snorkel with a purge valve is very easy to clear. Anyone who doesn't make the effort to clear before inhaling, is asking for trouble, or at least a rude surprise. Also, another point the video did NOT mention, but any dive shop person will, is tube length and diameter. If you are exerting yourself, when you inhale, you want air fast. Long skinny tubes (as theirs appears to be) are more restrictive than short wide tubes, and you can count on that "double tube" design being quite narrow. I agree with NitrogenJunkie, too clunky and too expensive.

I don't think it is something to avoid. I think it is mostly made for certain people who may have problems with normal snorkels. I know someone who it claimed it helped when normal snorkels didn't seem to work for them. I would only try it if you have problems with other snorkels though.
