divanicki75 Posted May 6, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2011 Has anyone ever taken the Tri-rail from FLL (transfer at metrorail) to a hotel in Miami? I'm trying to figure out the transfer and I'm not having an easy time of it. I'm thinking it's a very cheap alternative to shuttling between FLL & Miami. Many thanks!! :)
crzycick Posted May 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2011 I did a couple of weeks ago but I didn't transfer to metro. I took it to the Miami Airport where I hopped on a bus that took me right in front of my hotel. My back up option was to take the free shuttle to the airport and then my hotel offered a free shuttle from the airport. Bus was just faster. Who knew? Posted May 14, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2011 How did you do the Tri-Rail from FLL airport to Miami airport and how much? Thanks. 1-800-TRIRAIL I believe there are shuttles (free) to and from the airports to the Tri-Rail station nearest the airport. "Tickets are available at all Tri-Rail stations prior to departure. Tickets are only valid on the day of purchase. Monthly tickets are only valid from the first to the last day of the calendar month. Tri-Rail suggests arriving at the station 20 minutes prior to departure." This is from http://www.tri-rail.com/rider_info/fare_information.htm According to http://www.tri-rail.com/rider_info/fare_calculator.htm it looks like 3.75 on weekdays and 5.00 weekends. Also see http://www.tri-rail.com/rider_info/train_schedules.htm Hope this helps -- Linda
