ppeckham Posted March 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2005 You can go to Carnival's website to view the ship layout and cabins.
dlb1357 Posted March 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2005 We were on the Conquest on the 2/27/05 sailing. Our stateroom was 7363 on the Empress deck. I chose this one for many reasons: 1. It had a balcony 2. It was closer to the middle of the ship (less movement) 3. It was in the exact middle of two elevator banks so we never had to hear the "ding" from the elevator or the noise from people waiting for the elevators. 4. The Empress deck is between two other passenger decks...so we never had to deal with noise from "activity decks" like the casino, dining room, bars and lounges, showroom, etc. above or below us. I am a light sleeper and have not slept so well in years. There was occasional hallway noise (which every deck will have) but only noticed it in the morning when I was waking up and people were starting their day. I think we made the perfect choice. Some other things we discovered when we were on board were that it was not far from a self laundry area (there are only 4 on the entire ship). We also had a really nice view of Jamaica and Grand Cayman the mornings we came into port there. In Cozumel, the approach view was on the other side of the ship but we had a view of the shoreline once we docked. We also thought it was neat the day we boarded because we were on the ship quite early and our stateroom was on the dock side of the ship and were able to watch all the activity loading the ship. It was amazing how much food they loaded on that day. We also watched the drug dogs sniff all the items that were loaded (husband is in law enforcement so it was right up his alley!). Hope some of these tips help.
Boston6 Posted March 16, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2005 I personally love the cabins on the Lido deck. It's great to just walk out of your cabin, go down the hall, and have everything right there. I had NO issues with noise from people, elevators, or anything else. Lido deck RULES!
