canpass Posted May 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2011 Just off the EPIC, I intend to write a full review and post it under the review section. Let me say after reading the various reviews I had no idea what to expect but I can honestly say that the EPIC exceeded my expectations in every aspect. Once again I can see the results of NCL's ongoing efforts to up the level of service. Every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure we had an EPIC vacation. We ate in various venues an all meals were exceptional. The entertainment was fantastic. If you have questions just ask. We were in a spa suite. slotaddict Posted May 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2011 Canpass, we never got to see your suite, I hope you and your family enjoyed every moment of it. Thanks for putting together the meet and greet it was certainly nice to put faces to the names. The end of the cruise was a real bummer, we only had 10 minutes to spare when we got to the airport, if we hadn;t got off the ship when we did we would have missed our flight...we had a great time and agree with you regarding the food and entertainment.. sdmike Posted May 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2011 You read all the reviews and didn't know what to expect? You should have expected it to be the best, most entertaining ship ever....and suck too. :D

CruzinMel Posted May 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2011 Tom, if you do reviews like you do meet & mingles, I cannot wait to read it! Incidentally, I got views of somebody's spa suite several times - we were in 14157 and I kept ending up outside a spa suite while it was being cleaned and I admit to gawking - it was beautiful. (And the occupants were so tidy as to be undetectable - do you own a red bandanna? lol A red bandanna draped over the side of the jacuzzi was the only visible sign of life.) Did you get stuck in the bottleneck? We had chosen 9:15 for our walkoff time, and ended up sitting in Shaker's because we saw how crazy it was downstairs. I wondered about people with flights. We ran into a crew member who told us that Epic was trading out cruise directors and assistant cruise directors, and it always bottlenecks the first few times because the new ones dont' call the colors properly - apparently the lady with the perky voice was sticking to her schedule no matter what. ("If you have aqua luggage tags, as in 'aqua', please report to the gangway in the Casino for departure. . . ") And then Bo went walking around, and encountered some of the executive staff in Taste having an argument with a customs official about something (he took pics), and then the terminal got shut down, and then Customs shut everything down. . . we didn't walk off until 10:55 and I know the people waiting to board were heartily confused. As were we. We were lucky enough to encounter a porter who snuck us into the terminal next door, and we were in the parking lot within 10 minutes of leaving Shaker's, so I can't complain. Then again, we were driving. . . Melanie
mtb242 Posted May 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2011 Very interesting. We were perplexed at the incredibly long, slow lines for customs. Our previous disembarkation with Disney was so easy. I felt like it was a crummy way to end our wonderful cruise, but I was pleased that I didn't see anyone near me get too huffy about the situation. Sounds like Customs was the problem. Does Customs have a rant page?:o
