big_duck Posted June 1, 2005 #101 Share Posted June 1, 2005 The drink sell is also the worst, there I sit on deck thoroughly engrossed in my book, large thermal mug of coffee on the table, and the idiot drink waiters still feel the need to interrupt me to ask if I want a damn drink. Do I look like I'm desperate for a drink? After the 4th time I just lost it. I'm thinking of making up a sign before my next cruise that states something like, 'IF I WANT A DRINK I'LL ASK FOR ONE!". Preferably in 48 point font, do you think they'll get the hint then? Cheers, Peter That's funny, I could NEVER get a waiter when I wanted a drink  . The only time my waiter in the DR "pushed" the Carnival wine was when I was looking at the Wine List. BTW, it is a very good wine for the price :)
mrsv41605 Posted June 1, 2005 #102 Share Posted June 1, 2005 Just my 2 cents--we were never approached to buy anything other than a drink on our cruise in April. I did hear another passenger say nice things about the cookbook, but figured you have to buy it in the gift shop. The scratch tickets are in the show lounge--we only knew about them because we saw discarded ones on the tables. The towels, robes, and books were for sale in a hall after a port. All of the hawking done to us was in the ports!!! And I did buy some of it!!
