cruzin2relax Posted May 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2011 A previous CC member stated the following on their B2B within the past year. Was your experience similar?? "Turn around was a breeze. We had a letter in our stateroom regarding what was to happen. We had a meeting for all consecutive cruisers in the Vortex on the seay day talks by several staff thanking you for staying aboard etc. They also offer you the 2 for 1 offer in Chops or Portofino's for Saturday evening. If you have B2B before you know that your seapass account will close early Saturday am We had to visit the ambassadors desk on deck 8 on saturday morning to collect our new sea passes (if you are using the same credit card for the 1st cruise.) They retain your old sea passes until day 2 of 2nd cruise and deliver them to your stateroom. They provided a special lunch in the Reflections dining room which was very nice a 3 course meal served to you. Seemed strange eating and people for the 2nd cruise coming in to check their table asignments and seeing people already eating LOL If you are not going ashore you have to do nothing regarding immigration no vist to the terminal is needed just enjoy the quiet onboard. If you do intend to leave they ask you to leave between 8am and 10am where you check out with your old sea pass and check back in with your new one. They also give you an "in transit" card to show when you come back through (don't forget a picture ID)." Thanks for any information you could supply! MAHA Posted May 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2011 Sounds like a very relaxing day! I am so looking forward to our B2B in October. The 2 for 1 special in Chops or Portofino sounds great! The luncheon in the MDR also sounds very nice!
mutzy Posted May 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2011 i have done 2 b2b in the last yr. lst was on serenade- we had a meeting on friday and they gave us our new seapass cards and information on what to do if you wanted to get off the ship for the day or stay on the ship. we stayed on. on sunday (turn around day) my husband took both of our sea pass cards to the head of the gangway clocked us "out" and came back to the solarium. we were told we had access to our cabins and the ship- but to stay in one place while they were cking the fire doors. we did have a nice three course lunch in the dining room. we enjoyed the "empty ship" for a couple of hrs. they did keep the old cards and returned them to us a couple of days later 2nd was on voyager- a totally different b2b. we again had a meeting on friday and were given our new seapass cards. we were told to meet iat 10:30 on sunday (turn around day) and we would be escorted off the ship and thru customs and then back onto the ship (even had our pictures re-taken). this took almost 2 hrs to accomplish. by the time we were back on the ship- new passangers were already boarding. we did have a nice three course lunch. but were really tired after having stand in line everywhere. they did not keep our old cards the fun of a b2b is not to have the hassle of going off and back on the ship. from what i understand each ship/port is different on how they handle b2b i do enjoy b2b cruises-we just weren't prepared for the hassle with the one on voyager since the first one was so easy. We do not plan to leave the ship on turn around day....just need a day to relax before our next itinerary which is port intensive. You didn't mention any offers of 2 for 1 at Chops Saturday night. When was your b2b on Serenade? I so appreciate your sharing your experience with us. Blessings! Reyne

boewok Posted May 24, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2011 Done two b2b. No lunch on either. No meeting beforehand - just letter delivered to room day prior to turn around day. Both times escorted off ship & through customs. On Enchantment in Baltimore very smooth procedure. On Monarch in Pt Canaveral our escort got "lost" and we were pretty much on our own finding the proper route to take (just 3 of us). Guess each ship and port is different. Still have another one scheduled for January - and will do it every opportunity. Barb

mutzy Posted May 25, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2011 we did the b2b on serenade last november- each wk was suppose to be different islands- 4 the first wk and 5 the second. when we left home knew there was a hurricane brewing but didn't know how it would effect us. when we went our cabin there was a letter explaining due to the hurricane we would be doing a different course the first wk- pretty much what we would be doing on the second wk. we were disappointed but still happy to be cruising for two wks. so we scambled to find some excursions for dh to do (we always do rccl excursions because he goes alone) every time we booked and excursion they would call later in the day to tell us it was cancelled. so basically the first wk my dh would get off the ship and walk around the town. the second wk all the excursions went as planned. i found the solarium the second day and spend alot of time there- it was so quiet and relaxing. the three course meal was appetizer, dinner, desert- there were a few choices. i have heard that you have to have a certain number of b2b cruisers for lunch. when we went to eat there were maybe 15 us enjoying the lunch. the serenade is my favorite ship- just the right size - and all the glass - you know you are in the middle of the carribean
cruzin2relax Posted May 25, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted May 25, 2011 Sorry to hear of a Hurricane ruining your plans the 1st week. We've got excursions planned for both weeks with RCCL & private tours. We've always cruised in October/November the caribbean and have had no Hurricane's to mess-up our plans. My DH loves the beaches to walk & snorkeling the beautiful waters. I love to lay in my lounge chair under a palm trees & read my Kindle. The solarium will be where I am during the Sea days....my DH grabs a lounger beside the main pool & loves to people watch. I hope we have that certain number to get a 3 course lunch on turn around day. RCCL is our favorite cruise line...we've not yet been on a Radiance class ship yet. I hope we love it as much as everyone else says they do. Thanks for your information! Reyne
