Lil Mon Posted March 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2005 Has anyone been to Rum Point in Grand Cayman? I have heard alot of great things about it, but there is nothing on how far it is from the pier. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
jbond Posted March 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2005 We were there a few years ago. It's about as far from the pier as you gan get. It's way out on one of the arms of the island. We went by ferry, across the bay. I guess you can get there by taxi, but it would be expensive. It's a beautiful beach. One of the cleanest I have seen, and not too crowded. We went over on an RCI tour.
jgmpuma Posted March 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2005 We went to Rum Point several years ago (before Hurricane Ivan) and loved it. Uncrowded, with beautiful water and a couple of bars/restaurants. Last month we were scheduled to stop at Cayman on the Conquest, and gave Rum Point some thought. Nativeway offers an excursion to Coral Garden, Stingray City and Rum Point, but the timing wouldn't work. The Conquest was leaving at 4:00 and the excursion was secheduled to return at 3:00. We thought that was cutting it too close. As best I can recall, it is about a 45 minute drive from Georgetown. Cayman cabs are expensive, so I don't think that would be practical. gail811 Posted March 18, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2005 Try http://www.rumpointattractions.com We are renting a car there on our cruise and driving out there. There is also a good site for info on the Caymans, you just have to register. Their site is: http://www.*******************.com They have lots of locals willing to answer your questions. rebeljohn Posted March 20, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2005 Rum Point is a nice beach. It was closed this past fall when we sailed there due to Hurricane damage.
