SummerRenee Posted March 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2005 Joemon, Come on over to the NCL ROLL CALL thread and join our somewhat small group of fellow CC members on the same cruise! I hear the ship is practically sold out, so I am expecting lots of people on board. That all said, I am more than deserving of a week of R&R and I plan to have a great time. debjo Posted March 17, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2005 For joemon39... Don't forget to give us (those who are awaiting our future cruises) the rundown on GREAT STIRRUP CAY...whether it is "open" or not. Savor each and every moment of your cruise...take lots of pictures (don't forget your film or digital cards)...leave all your troubles onshore before you leave...be prepared for a great time on a fantastic ship! Don't be afraid to ask your cabin steward, waitstaff, and any of the other staff/crew members on the ship ANYTHING! They are there to help you have a terrific time! And last, but not least...remember to bring your smiles! :D :) ;) Debjo
Rare uneamie Posted March 17, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2005 First cruise Ever on Dawn on March 27 With Family Three Girls ages 21,18 ,16 any secrerts or last minute tips? The "Blue Lagoon" is a wonderful 24 hour "snack bar" in the back of the ship that has very tasty "in-between" meal treats. I loved the "hot wings", "wonton soup", and fish and chips....everything is very fresh and yummy. The only good thing on the "room service" menu is the pizza. The "wheel of fortune" slot machine made me $600 richer The "Escargo" in the "La Bistro" is supper. Do not miss booking a ressie in the Tepenyati Restaurant...it was wonderful. templed Posted March 17, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2005 bring a power strip...there's only one outlet in the room. bring an alarm clock... none in the room. Cagney's... great fare... when I sailed March 21st last year... that's were the captain ate... so, I would imagine he might know best.... Definately book teppenaki... we had a blast with our friends there.... Gede in the Star Bar is the best bartender on the ship.... Don't miss the chocolate buffet.... Have a blast.... (wish I was going tomorrow!!!!!!)
jeannep Posted March 18, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 18, 2005 Hi Joemon You are going to have a great time on the Dawn. It is a beautiful ship. My suggestions: Go to Impressions Don't miss any of the shows Trivia in Pearly Kings Pub in the afternoon is alot of fun Chocolate mousse from room service Everglade Airboat ride in Miami You can order a bottle of wine at dinner and if you don't want to finish it they will store it for you and the next night where ever you eat they can get your wine for you. Potato skins and wings at Blue Lagoon Coconut soup and other cold fruitty soups for dinner If you can't decide what to order, order both!!!!! There are just sooooo many great things about the Dawn you will discover ones for yourself. Enjoy!!!!! Jeanne
tigerlilycruiser12 Posted March 18, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 18, 2005 The first sea day will be chilly and if so on your cruise then go to the inside pool area and find a chair overlooking the ocean. My husband and I did this one sea day and it was wonderful. :)

joemon39 Posted March 18, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted March 18, 2005 Thank you for all your replays, but does any body have any secrets for a great trip before we leave on March 27? My 16 year old daughter is interested in how the teen club was and what activities were the best. Thanks for your input. Joemon:cool:
Dolphins Posted March 18, 2005 #12 Share Posted March 18, 2005 Pianist/Vocalist extraordinaire Pamala Stanley will be back on the Dawn for your cruise. She will be performing nightly at the grand piano in Gatsby's between the Impressions and Le Bistro restaurants. You are in for a treat. Wish I was joining you.
