Disney Wonder Out of LA?

Considering my first Disney cruise with DD and GD (7th B-Day). The Disney Wonder (car drive away versus flying 3 people)) will be sailing out of LA and going to Mexico--not my fave port calls. Will the ship compensate (all kinds of Disney funstuff for the GD) for the lousy itinerary, or should I splurge and fly to FLA for the Magic or Dream? I am worrying about itinerary--no kid-friendly ports for Disney fun (?).

Mexican Riviera is my favorite cruise area. Depending on the age of the kids, there are many excursions available . Teens would love the horseback riding on the beach, zip lines or the many beautiful beaches. Hire a small boat in PV and cruise out to Demi Moore's house where you will find a small island loaded with pelicans. Laze around and watch the pelicans dive for the fish while you enjoy a cold one. Cabo is a great tourist area but you have to watch the locals, they will give you their money as change and the exchange rate sucks. Los Arcos is the only place where you can see two oceans together
