rebel55 Posted March 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2005 Okay - I need advice. We are thinking about doing the America's Cup Race. We are a couple in our late 40's and early 60's. He is very athletic. I'm not. Do they have easy tasks for couch potatoes? I'm also a clutz. We would like to do this excursion, but I want to stay out of the workers way. What do you think? Sheffie Posted March 19, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2005 Rebel55 - We did this excursion last year. We are both in our 50s, and neither of us is very athletic. Let me tell you that this was the best excursion we have done! There are jobs for people who want to do a lot, a little (I was a winch wench), very little (bar maid) and virtually nothing (time keeper). Our team drew the Stars and STripes and we beat the True North. It was a great race. The best part was when we were sailing back into the harbor, I got a chance to be at the helm! Can you imagine steering THE boat that won the America's Cup?!! You will have a wonderful time if you do this excursion. We had a morning excursion and had enough time to go to Dawn Beach for the afternoon. Oh, just a head's up: We tried doing this excursion when we sailed the Horizon, and there were not enough people and the excursion was cancelled. I would suggest having a back-up plan just in case. Have a great cruise! Michelle
rebel55 Posted March 19, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted March 19, 2005 Thanks, I think I just needed a little bit of encouragement. I think we will go ahead and book this excursion. You made it sound very exciting. And if not enough people sign up, we'll just head for a beach. Again, thank you for your input. Rebel55
