Here is dinner:

 

I had the lasagna as a starter, it did not look very good but it tasted so good I could have ate it every single night!

 

DH Started with the Shrimp

 

The lasagna is excellent and I get it each cruise as a starter. For my entree, I get the Spa Tilapia with the mango salsa.

Who was your cabin steward? We had Rudy and were in E210 during Spring Break.

Congrats on your baby to be. We like Progresso. The town is relatively safe and has some nice little stores.It's a true Mexican village experience. If you speak some Spanish and bring pesos to spend it's even better. We'll be there again in Jan.

It is on the lido deck by the pool, it will be the same place you will find hotdogs and hamburgers later in the day. Just down the hall from the regular buffet!

We were on the same cruise as you all. We ate some of the same foods you all ate too. 7 out of the 11 of us got sick on Wed night.

Enjoying your review, quick question, that Pier looks really long, do they have a shuttle or anything to get you to the end of it?!

 

 

They do have shuttles in Progresso. The pier is 4 or 5 miles long and I am pretty sure they don't allow anyone to walk it. The shuttle will drop you off in front of a flea market and that is where you go to pick it up. You can also hop on a double decker bus for about $2 or $3, that will take you around the town. Down by the beach there are a couple of places that are owned by Americans and they take great care of you. My trip in Feb., we are at Buddy's. You can sit on the beach and they bring the drinks and/or food to you. The pier in Cozumel is long, but, they have the guys with the mini-peds, I think that is what they are called.

 

I went back and decided you might have been talking about the one from the ship to the terminal. Sorrry for the mistake.

I love love love Progreso and Le Saint Bonnet! We got massages too at the same place but paid $10 for one hour. We met a wonderful local man, Fransisco, and he negotiated the rate for us. He also took us on a walking tour of the town and told us all of it's history, etc. He spoke perfect English because he had lived in Colorado for about 20 years. We saw alot of men (mostly drunk) sleeping on benches. Fransisco informed us that they weren't homeless but Mexican women are very strict. If you aren't home by a decent hour, you aren't allowed in lol

Thanks for the review loved reading it. Got one question,, the place you guys ate in progresso how cheap was it and was the menu in english or at least were you kinda know what it is talking about? And the massages your husband got was right there by the resturant?

And the place we ate in progresso was not cheap, it was roughly American prices, we paid $17 for the food and DH had a margarita, (home made) the menu is in like 4 diff languages and they speak English, the money is in pasos though, so you will have to ask but when we were then it was 1 American $ for every 10 pasos.

By now it is 9:30 am and I am HUNGRY for lunch.....:cool:

 

AND I have to pee, so we look for a restaurant, which there are several along the beach. Out of the gate if you turn right, and then follow the street to the right you will be by the resaurants. We went to the second one down. Go eat here, MMMMMM GOOD!! And they gave me lunch at 9:30 in the morning! HEHE!! The bathrooms here aren't great but better then anywhere else I found in Progresso. (and free)

I have a question is this resturant across the bridge or just right outside the gate where the ship ports? By looking at the pics it looks like you have to take the bridge over to get to it? and if so, how much was a bus or taxi to get across the bridge? just curious we have been to progresso before but we just stayed inside the port area and shopped. thanks for all your wonderful info:)

Buddy's is right around the corner from Le Saint Bonnet. Tacos were $7 and bottled beer $2.50. The menu is in English, although the prices were in pesos. Great food. I would recommend also the lime soup ($5).

I didn't see a Buddys! I really wanted a Tamali from the street cart lady but DH said no :mad: I guess he didn't want to chance getting sick.

 

PS to PP My hubby got a massage right across the street from it.
