House,

If we walked further down from Medano Beach..what is there? Is there any place to sit, eat and swim? Medano Beach is too loud for us and we are not into partying.

The further you go down Medano, the quieter it is. Are you looking for a great restaurant or just looking to chill at the beach. You can walk all the way to the Riu resorts and just a bit past that. There are lot of places to go if you just want to grab something to eat and relax on a lounge chair. We love Tabascos which is the last beach bar/restuarant on the beach just past the Pueblo Bonito Rose and Club Cascadas. Very quiet and relaxing.

If you want quiet, go to the Pacific side. We usually go to the Solmar Hotel (I think that's the name), which is only 1/4 mile from the dock. No harasment from vendors. Walk through the lobby to the beach. Stop back at the poolside bar for fish tacos and beer.

That is true but you cannot swim there and the OP wants to be able to swim as well.

Can we travel by water taxi from the port to Tabascos? or do we have to take a normal taxi?

You can do either. Just so you know that if you take a water taxi, you will have to jump off and then get back on in a foot or 2 of water so you may get wet. There are 1 or 2 boats with ladders in the front but they are never around we we are looking for them so chances are you won't find them. There are alot of water taxis! :D If you take a regular taxi as to be taken to the Club Cascadas resort and then just walk thru the resort to reach Tabascos. If you just tell them to take you to the beach, they will let you off near the Office and the Mango Deck which is further down the beach.

Thanks...I would like to take the water taxi, I don't mind jumping off and on since every time we visited Cabo, we are always headed to Lover Beach. We like to stay on Lover Beach longer, but with no facility and foods, it is difficult.
