CallieS Posted March 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2005 I'm going to Belize later this year and was interested in cave tubing. However, I'm a bit claustrophobic. Could anyone tell me how enclosed these caves are? I don't want to squeeze through any tight/narrow spaces. I saw some pictures that people posted, but couldn't really tell. petercarroll Posted March 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2005 I didn't thing it was that small of a cave. I think the narrowest point was like 30 ft wide and 10 ft high. Its a really big cave. If you can survive cruise ship cabins, then this cave should be ok.
shrimp0 Posted March 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2005 you will not feel closed in at all. It is very open with high ceilings. It is just very dark. There are a few places where you can see natural light coming in from above... but not enough to see really far around you. You have your own head lamp to navigate with and look all around at the cave walls. I am not claustrophobic... but I am afaid of the dark.... but I wasnt that afraid in the cave
