BelAirMom Posted June 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2011 if we have a late day flight and can participate in luggage valet, does anyone have any idea on when we have to/are allowed to leave the ship or what time the ship-sponsored airport shuttles leave? thanks!

Gonzo70 Posted June 15, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2011 You did not say what port your cruise ends in, what time your ship is scheduled to arrive or what airport you are flying from. On typical sailings they want everybody off the ship by 10:00am, sometimes earlier. There is not much to do on board the ship the last morning other than have breakfast; there are no activities and aside from breakfast everything is pretty much closed. If the cruise terminal and airport are not too far away, a cab will be much, much, much cheaper (as well as quicker and more comfortable) than a cruise ship transfer to the airport. I have never used a cruise ship transfer as I have always gotten to the airport for a small fraction of what a transfer would have cost.
Mainer59 Posted June 15, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2011 sorry, and wanted others' impressons of the shuttle service supplied by RCI (reliable, prompt, etc.)? We've had mixed (assume you're going out of Port Canaveral based on upcoming cruise). Past years all has gone smoothly. Last year we had a late flight so took our time getting off the ship. There were no more shuttles "planned" and no one was apparently in charge. After much delay and a crowd growing the finally got a few more busses brought in. Didn't really affect us because of a late flight but it was a bit warm just waiting there.
