Any Teenage Children on July 29 Silver Shadow Rome to Venice Cruise?

We are reserved on the July 29 cruise from Rome to Venice on the Silver Shadow; we originally were on the July 22 RSSC Diamond until it was subject to abupt exercise of a puchase option by the owner (RSSC merely leased it; it's going to be gambling ship off China, I believe).

 

There were about a dozen teenagers on last year's Venice to Rome Diamond cruise, which is one reason we reserved it. Beggars can't be choosers (and believe me, my wife and I know this is a superior quality cruise), but are there likely to be any other teenagers on this cruise? Don't worry; they're mature and well-behaved 15-year old girls.

I was on an August cruise of the SILVER WHISPER from Athens to Rome a couple of years ago, and I'd guess there were about 20 kids on board, including at least half a dozen teenagers of various nationalities.

 

On the other hand, there weren't any teens (or children) on an August cruise in Northern Europe.

 

I remember the hotel manager saying that Mediterranean cruises tend to attract more families, especially in late summer when European families are on vacation.

 

Also, even if there aren't any other teens on board, your kids shouldn't have too much reason to be unhappy. A "port-intensive" Mediterranean cruise doesn't leave a lot of time for boredom, compared to a transatlantic cruise.

 

(For what it's worth, I've taken my 18-year-old son on a couple of European river cruises, and on both occasions he had a great time. Just being treated as an adult by the crew was a welcome change from the U.S. He's not a boozer, but he was pleased whenever a waiter would hand him a Kir Royale and when the waitstaff invited him to go with them to a club in Venice.)

lol my first European cruise was a med cruise on the Royal Princess from London. I was really shocked by the number of children on board until I heard them speak.... Duhhhhhhh moment for me.......

We will be on the July 29th Rome to Venice cruise but our 15 year old will be at overnight camp. Celebrating our 20th anniversary, can't wait!
