*love2travel* Posted July 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2011 We ordered liquor from BV and are wondering how we are going to drink our own liquor on lido without going back to our cabin to mix another. I see a lot of people take Bubba Kegs but aren't they a pain to lug around? What about bringing disposable solo cups and just remixing from the lido deck juices? We leave in 2 days...:)
soulsistah007 Posted July 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2011 What we did was order a bottle of rum from bv and we brought our own cans of pop. Our room steward always kept a bucket of ice in our room so we mixed the drinks in our room and then took it up to the lido. It lasted for quite awhile so there was no need to have to go back to our room to refill. Not a pain to carry around at all. Very convienient, especially on a hot day! poundcake09 Posted July 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2011 I agree with Soulsista.. I never left my cabin without mines. I bought the 32oz and was never inconvienced to carry it around.
okinaw55 Posted July 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2011 I used this and was happy with it. 24oz version. http://www.polarbottle.com/insulated/ The strap on top made it easy to slip around your finger to carry and it kept my drinks nice and cool. VickiD59 Posted July 8, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2011 We had big insulated mugs as well, which worked out just fine. What I found was a pain was trying to wash those big insulated mugs in that teeny little bathroom sink. It was never more than a rinse, shake and swish. Was there a larger sink somewhere that we never knew about?

smallworldtraveller Posted July 8, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 8, 2011 I always take my Bubba Mug, I have a 20 ounce one. We do land resorts and I hate those plastic disposable glasses they use. Most countries that i go to do have recycling programs do either the glasses end up in the garbage or rolling down on the beach
Elmer McCurdy Posted July 8, 2011 #8 Share Posted July 8, 2011 I have a 24 ounce bottle I use for that. If I'm mixing with something from the fountain, I just put my booze in a flask. Flasks are great. So convenient.
Room Service! Posted July 8, 2011 #9 Share Posted July 8, 2011 We have used the Bubbas too. They're great for those days just lazin' around the pool, , people watching. If you're walking around with it, could always run a strap throught the handle.
flounder315 Posted July 8, 2011 #10 Share Posted July 8, 2011 I buy the Carnival insulated 16oz cup with a lid that they sell when you buy your soda fountain card. Add liquor from bon voyage and your set to go. use a small flask and be distreet when refilling.
bguppies Posted July 8, 2011 #11 Share Posted July 8, 2011 We have been using various Bubba Kegs from cruise 1. (#10 coming in 2 months) I find it easier carrying them around during the day, than using the tiny cups at the drink dispensers and having to go back and forth all day long. My 32 oz. Bubba keeps me in beverage for a couple of hours and keeps it cold and frosty, the entire time. (again, which won't happen with a cheap, disposable beer cup and some ice, poolside.) Whichever way you decide to go.... Enjoy your favorite beverage. Bill
TrqoisWtrs Posted July 8, 2011 #12 Share Posted July 8, 2011 I've used a smaller Bubba Keg for my morning cuppa joe too. Those little mugs just don't cut it. :)
dingusmcduffy Posted July 8, 2011 #13 Share Posted July 8, 2011 I will never cruise again without a primary bubba keg, and a backup bubba keg... I lost mine on my last cruise and the results were devastating... Lol.
VickiD59 Posted July 9, 2011 #14 Share Posted July 9, 2011 Not a sink but you could always use the shower to wash the larger mugs~ Wow... DUH on my part! Never thought of that... obviously ;) Now I'll be well prepared for the next time, thanks!
