Formal Nights on Alaksan cruises

Just wondering how formal people dress on formal nights for Alaskan cruises? Mother in law is going in June and she heard that it was fairly casual. Told her she should check into it because we've cruised with Celebrity several times (albiet the Caribbean) and it was always pretty formal.

Ma Bell is correct--no matter what the itinerary is, the formal night dress is still formal!:D We have cruised Alaska 4 times and will also be sailing Alaska again in June and hubby is bringing his tux and I will take long dresses. We will have 3 formal nights on our 10 night itinerary.
