Flooding Around July 4th weekend

While vacationing during July 4th weekend, someone told me they caught the end of a news clips about flooding in St Maarten/Martin. It showed pictures of water up to the tops of car doors. Once back from vacation I have researched this and can't find any news regarding any flooding around that time. Doers anyone know if they was a flood at St Maarten/Martin recently as we are planning a late fall cruise there.

Hello, it did in fact rain a but and was cloudy that weekend last week, but no flooding, the picture may have been from a bigger flash flood from another time.

Its usually sunny so hopefully it will be sunny when you are visiting!

It rained Sunday the 3rd but nothing like the rain on the morning of the 13th. I did not see anything other than the usual amount of water on the streets when it rains heavily on the island.
