Dolphins Posted March 22, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 22, 2005 I believe Dawn is too large to dock in either St. George or Hamilton. Rumor has it that Norwegian Crown, Norwegian Sea and Norwegian Majesty will be leaving NCL. Which raises the question- what ship will NCL use to Bermuda? basketballmom Posted March 22, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2005 When the Majesty and Crown retire, NCL will not have any ships small enough to dock in St. George. On our last Majesty cruise, we heard rumors from the staff that NCL's contract with Ordinance Island (St. George docking area) runs out at the end of 2006. The cruise lines want to make the cut into St. George's wide and deep enough for larger ships to fit through but the residents of Bermuda don't want that. So for now, it looks like NCL will have larger ships going to Bermuda but will have to dock out at the Dockyards. This will really stink as we love St. George and staying there the entire trip. But we do love Bermuda so we will have to try something new!
Jeanne S Posted March 23, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2005 No. Could only berth at Kings Wharf. This ship was obtained with the purpose of speed in sailing to Florida in one sea day as previously NCL sailed the SEA to Florida from NYC at times which took longer.
