Does 10726 on Dawn balcony wrap around?

Hi,

We were looking at cabin 10726 and 10226 on the Dawn. Pictures of the aft show a divider between the balcony in front of the cabin and the balcony that wraps around the side of the ship. Does anyone know if there is access to this part, especially after the most recent retrofit?

Thanks,

Paula

Thanks for the info. That's too bad. We've had wrap arounds on at least two cruises and loved them. Looks like the better options are 10728 or 10228 where the balconies are deeper. Anybody know if the spa above presents a noise problem?

There is no noise issues plus the balcony is private - you can't be seen from above. We were in 10728 back in march and LOVED it! You are correct the balcony is large enough for 2 loungers laying straight out.

Enjoy!

Hi -

We were in aft-facing penthouse #9232 on the Dawn last week, and the divider to the wrap around area was open the entire time. (We were never quite sure if this was an accident or oversight, but we adopted a "don't ask, don't tell" policy and it remained open thoughout the cruise! :)) It's not a particularly large or practical space - you can't sit there, and chairs won't fit - but it made our balcony seem a little more spacious. We enjoyed the view from it, and took some pictures. It was a nice surprise, because we were expecting the divider to be closed and locked!

DrBeamer,

I'm so excited I can't stand it!! We are in the cabin right next door in 10228 for the August 5 sailing. After reading so much on here about "good" and "bad" experiences with butlers, I was sure hoping that our experience was going to be a "good" one with a great butler. I'll hope that Leila will be covering our section for that cruise. We've cruised before but never in a suite so we're not sure what to expect. But its just great to know that the deck is stacked in our favor. So glad you had a good time.

The suite next to mine had 2 adults and 2 kids...they seemed happy with it. I can't imagine 4 adults though. I think the sofa was removed at night and rollaway brought in.

Leila took care of many small things for us. Always answered her phone and and was at the door in minutes. Never had to worry about supplies for the coffee machine, Stocked the mini bar with our requests. Her answer is always "No problem". She always made sure we had the afternoon snacks, would make a return trip if we were napping..also a great personality..

Nora,

I think you will love the aft balcony on this room. Make sure you are out there around 4p with your champagne for the sail away. You will have planes from Logan flying overhead.

Also, once you give your luggage to the porter and go through the initial security, head to the right for VIP check in. The staff person will quickly get you room keys etc. Then to VIP lounge to meet concierge. One of the butlers will then escort you on board. Ask them if you can drop your carry on bags in the room, it probably won't be ready. You can then go to Cagney's on deck 13 mid ship for your lunch. Suite passengers can eat breakfast and lunch there everyday. It's one of the best perks of the suite. The staff there is outstanding..

Anything else you would like to know, just ask....all fresh in my mind.

Just got off the Dawn today cabin 10226. No noise from above. Balcony deep, held 2 loungers comfortably. Excellent butler, Leila. Can answer other questions if you have any.

Hi, We're sailing next month. Any idea who the concierge will be?

Thanks

We enjoyed Anoop back in March of this year and he said he would be around for some of the Bermuda season, but would leave at some point in late July or August for his break.

He checked in with us once or twice day, made sure we didn't have problems, Gave advice re the shows and dining. On this ship it was easy to make our own dining reservations each day with the hostess at Cagneys at breakfast or lunch time. On embarkation one of our bags lost the room tag, he personally found it and delivered it within 20m.

We also signed up for the wrong excursion which was our fault, we called concierge and his assistant took care of it.

I think the advantage is knowing that if you have a problem, you have the concierge and bulter that can help solve it for you.

Also priority disembarkation,...we were escorted off the ship by concierge at 915a.

Thank you for posting pictures of the balcony. I am considering booking the exact same cabin on the Dawn later in the year. Thought it would be nice to surprize hubby with a suite for his birthday...Do you have any more pictures of the cabin to post?

Also,,,,was there much vibration in the cabin from the engines?
