Rare l2f Posted July 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2011 The cruises we have been on thus far have been in the early part of the year, either before or after spring break or school being out for the summer. We are going to a 8 day cruise during Thanksgiving week. For those that have cruised during this week in the past, does it tend to be a little wilder with the younger crowd, more kids, or what I would expect during early March/after mid April time? Rare l2f Posted July 18, 2011 Author #2 Share Posted July 18, 2011 Perhaps I need to re word this question. We are departing 11/18 for our first late fall cruise, Thanksgiving week. For those who have cruised during the week of Thanksgiving... Should we expect more kids during this week compared to early March? Thanks
Room Service! Posted July 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2011 I would think that there'd be more kids. March, they're in school. Thanksgiving, they're not.
Rare l2f Posted July 18, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted July 18, 2011 When considering this cruise, we didn't think of the college age students, just the younger school students. Well hopefully since this is a 8 day itinerary that will eliminate some of the kids.

Relax@Sea Posted July 18, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2011 I was on RCL "Monarch of the seas" during Thanx-giving and there were not that many kids mostly couples and not to many groups that I seen, was kind of quit.
sunkey1 Posted July 18, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 18, 2011 We cruise during this week quite often and even though we take our kids some of the times, we do it because there are just enough kids to keep them entertained, but not so many as to get on our nerves. :) We went this past April on a cruise with the kids and my husband and I both agreed that we will never do that again - way too many kids. March tends to be nice as there are not too many spring breakers then and Thanksgiving week works as many schools do not take the entire week off - ours did not until last year. I think you should be fine.
BSQ Posted July 18, 2011 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2011 My first cruise and this last one I took were both Thanksgiving week. It was mostly families. Even though there are a lot of kids, I haven't found thanksgiving week to be particularly unruly. It's pretty sedate compared to the summer months I've cruised during.
