cruisenanny Posted July 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2011 Most people rent the ferry/bus pass for the amount of days they are there, very inexpensive compared to using taxis or renting scooters (our favorite way to get around the island, but these are highly controversial due to the potential dangers). For first timers or those with kids, see the aquarium, crystal caves, St George town square & you really cant go wrong with any of the beaches. Good for families is Horseshoe bay, full facilities & the bus stops at the top of the hill (nice walk down, up not so much) All the beaches in that area are GREAT, warwick, jobsons cove area & elbow beach to name a few. Also good first time ideas are the perfumery, the botanical gardens, horse drawn carriage ride. We have done all of this & more on our many visits to the island and we STILL find new things each time we go. Discovered glass beach last time we were there, had a blast searching for sea glass:p Its near Ft St Catherines, another good place to visit..
