Embassy suites new orleans convention center

We have just booked the Embassy Suites and was wondering where the closest trolley stop to this hotel would be. Also, how far away is Mardi Gras world from the hotel.

 

Is this location pretty safe as we will have children with us.

Here's a map. Hotel is in a safe area.

 

There is a riverfront trolly stop on Julia Street. Take a left as you leave the hotel, It's about a four-block walk.

 

The St. Charles Avenue streetcar runs along St. Charles, about six blocks in the other direction.

Mardi Gras World is a mile or so away, and not an easy walk. No sidewalks for much of the way. Take a cab.

It is a short walk to the port but a long walk to Burbon street. There is the covered walking area by the port. Nice shopping and food is there too. We always stay at the Embassy Suites as my husband enjoys their breakfasts and their afternoon receptions.
