dawnp Posted April 26, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2004 if anything? I know that the ships have registry outside of the USA but since they sail out of the USA for the most part and carry quite a few americans does anyone know if they do anything special for the 4th like they do for Halloween and Thanksgiving? toni1266 Posted April 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2004 They don't really do anything special for that holiday. I do believe the captain might mention it but you have to remember there are many Brittish folks sailing and it wouldn't be fair. I remember when I was a little girl and I lived in London I attended millitary school. We were off fourth of July of course but I asked my little neighbor friend why she wasn't off and her dad replied because that's when you beat us and we don't have anything to celebrate. They were wonderful people and they knew I was little and had no idea what the fourth of July meant, I just knew it was a day out of school. dawnp Posted April 26, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Hi Toni - Thanks for the answer - I figured as much, but someone on our roll call asked if there may be fireworks or anything for his kids to enjoy and I didn't know how to answer as we hadn't taken Celebrity during the 4th before. Truffle Posted April 26, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2004 It might depend on your destination--Caribbean, Europe or Alaska. I thought I heard someone say they had fireworks while cruising in Alaska.
superjerryw Posted April 26, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Due to the high risk of fire I can't imagine them setting off fireworks on a cruise ship. Can you imagine the lawsuits. Donuts, is there anything they can't do....
CKBob Posted April 26, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2004 The kids and the cruise staff put on a 4th of of July parade throughout the ship. On the pool deck there is usually a short program put on to mark the 4th.
jpinct Posted April 27, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2004 My anniversary is July 4th. My wife & I will be in the middle of the Atlantic, steaming (well, dieseling) towards Bermuda. There will definitely be fireworks on our cruise
